Professionals Network Middle East

What is "Professionals Network Middle East"?

As they say, networking is one great way to get in touch with real people in firms and organizations in the country you seek a job in. They will serve 3 purposes:

1. Introduce you to the Human Resources Manager of their firm/ organization.

2. Introduce you to some hot job vacancies currently open in their firm/ but not yet advertized with recruiting agencies or on the job sites.

3. Introduce you, or refer you, to the correct person (HR personnel) who can help you get a job in that firm, or another firm in the same field.

Let's face it. Competition for jobs in the Middle East is fierce, what with the region clocking some of the fastest growth rates globally. With 2 major events viz. The Expo 2020 (in Dubai, UAE) and the FIFA World Cup 2022 (in Doha, Qatar), slated to come up, the region is going to witness even more scorching hot growth than ever before. So, how do you approach the right connections, that can help you get the coveted job?

How do you NETWORK?

How do you obtain the "Wasta, Referral, Influence, Clout" that is so important to get a break into the GCC Jobs and Career Market?

One of the most important rules, not only for fresh graduates, but also experienced professionals searching for jobs in the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) of the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain, hear over and over again...

Network!

But the Million Dollar Question is...

How do you make contacts if you don't even know a soul here?

Answer: INVEST in an email list of people in firms in your career sector...

TIPS:

1. Don’t worry about rejection, and don’t worry that the person you’re contacting might misinterpret your gesture. Just move past these obstacles and do what needs to be done. Send an Email. or Call. But contacting by Email or via LinkedIn is a better bet.

2. Briefly explain your situation. Be positive. Instead of saying “I am looking for a job, please help me.,” try, “I recently came across your profile, and was wondering if you could either put me in touch with the HR department in your firm, or any other person who could help me get a job in the XYZ sector.”

3. Let the contact know what you’d like them to do. Keep it as simple as possible, and write a request for advice rather than leads or recommendations. People love giving advice, and that advice might lead you to the right person. Ask for help in a clean and professional manner. There is no need to beg.
